Bio

Season Butler is a writer, artist, and dramaturg whose work moves between literature, performance, and institutional collaboration. She writes about youth and ageing, solitude and community, and the fragile architectures of hope through which people attempt to imagine liveable futures.

Her debut novel Cygnet won the 2020 Writers’ Guild Award for Best First Novel. Alongside her writing, she has led and contributed to projects with institutions including Tate Modern, the Barbican Centre and Whitechapel Gallery.

She lives and works between Berlin and London.
